Just spent the better part of the day downloading driver update for the video card and the ethernet connection.

The 2 latest nvidia driver files are corrupt. I tried multiple times with FF and (gasp) IE but every last one was corrupt.

So I went and got the only one that would work from last December. That one is just fine.

Next.. the ethernet controller. Yeah. Ha ha ha. Since I rely on the internet I decided to create a restore point before messing with the new driver.

Damned good thing I did because the new driver crashed the system. When I finally got it running again I had no internet access.

Run system restore wizard. Choose restore point. Restart computer, for the umpteenth time. wait wait wait wait sweat bullets

Ah, there we go. Internet.

What a huge crock of shit.

Windows sucks.
nVidia sucks.
Marvell Yukon sucks.

I am about to go pound the living hell out of a piece of round steak we will have for supper.

Then have a beer.

I'll feel so MUCH better after that.
