Oh, come ON, people!

Just passed through the living room and noted, out of the corner of my eye, a commercial for a new product by Listerine. It's green and attracts all that awful stuff you miss when you brush.

It also kills bad breath germage.

It also is aimed at Mommies with kids 6 - 12.

Since when did Mommies start worrying about kid that age having bad breath?

Unless they have a medical condition or don't brush their teeth or....

The most likely scenario is Mommy gives them all kinds of sugary drinks, garbage food and overall poor nutrition.

Ah, yes! That would explain it.

Sheesh.

R.I.P. Common Sense, I certainly miss you.

For what it's worth, I buy that stuff. But I am also the kind of mom that sits on the pot next to the sink while my kids brush to ensure they are doing it right. I amnot perfect, I have sent my kids to be without brushing teeth (and yeah, they were kinda dirty too BAD BAD lazy mama that I am *rolls eyes*) but they are doing ok.

And another reason I sit with them is because dried toothpaste is hard to clean up and I want to make sure it is cleaned up once they are done and not a week later LOL.

Stop the Spying!

About Me

A hobby cook from the Midwest. Experiments, thoughts, new recipes, maybe even a photo or two... You noticed the pouting little girl with the words superimposed over her face? Growing up in the 60s and 70s the refrain of "there are starving children in [insert current poverty-stricken nation] that would love to have such... etc etc etc." I don't know that anyone actually believed all that but the image of a starving foreign child, holding out a bowl in hopes of being gifted with boiled tongue or green tomato pie, was pretty powerful. I do recall the kind of trouble kids would inevitably be in if they dared to say what most of us thought: "Well, then, send this stuff right on over to those poor, starving [insert country] kids." I don't usually post other people's photos, just my own. If you want to borrow or use one of my photos, I would appreciate your asking first. I usually don't mind but do hate having my work attributed to someone else. By the way, I found the photo of that pouting girl on the web with no attribution. If it's yours? We'll deal, ok? Thanks.
